Out of all the weddings I was hired to capture in 2020, there was only one I was not able to attend due to Covid-19. For the safety of the families and the timing of everything, Abbey + Joey chose to say intimate vows with only their immediate family as witnesses. Though I was sad for myself, I was OVERJOYED that this sweet couple decided to start their marriage journey at the peak of lockdown! They decided that no matter what happened next, they wanted to battle it united. What I want more than anything is to see my couples choose each other over everything, and for that, it was easy to celebrate them from afar!

Once the virus calmed down enough for distant visitations, Abbey + Joey invited me to come down to Portland, Oregon for a couple’s session. We went from their parents’ backyards to a BEAUTIFUL, dreamy forest that made me feel like Bella + Edward could be waiting behind any tree. We laughed, danced, and laughed some more as we shared the highs and lows of the past season of life. We ended our night eating Pho together at a local restaurant, dreaming of future adventures together 🙂 Abbey + Joey have become some of my favorite people and biggest supporters. I am continually in awe of the relationships that form, even when the camera is packed away.
