Photography is about more than pretty images: it’s about documenting people in their most vulnerable, heartfelt moments. Smiles and tears. Hope and sorrow. Light and dark. One does not exist without the other, and your story isn’t complete without the most raw, authentic parts of who you are—even, especially, on your wedding day.
A LITTLE ABOUT ME
My purpose begins and ends with people. And that’s where you come in.
I believe, with every fiber of my being, that you shouldn’t have to perform to feel seen: you deserve a day that celebrates your love in its most honest form.
My heart and mission are present in each couple I work with: to shift wedding photography from the standard, exclusionary norm toward personalized, soulful documentation that centers the stories of LGBTQ+ couples and allies.
Through empathy, adventure, and creative storytelling, I create a space where you feel safe—and encouraged—to be yourselves.
I'm Ready
My love for this art form began during my time as a youth advocate, when I photographed senior portraits for a few mentees.
I quickly discovered a passion for this method of storytelling, of documenting life as it unfolded—one I’d nourish over the next few years as I grew older and found a love for traveling the world.
I realized that images hold enormous power in how our stories are told, remembered, and honored…
And I wanted nothing more than to be the one to capture them; to watch them come to life in front of me.
Over the years, photography has grown from a passionate hobby into a heartfelt gift I share—especially with the queer community and its allies. This purpose is woven into everything I do.
As a queer woman, I never saw myself or other queer folks represented enough in the wedding industry… and I knew that I could be a catalyst for positive change.
Today, I bring my camera, my love for the outdoors, and my love for LOVE everywhere I go—from the snowy alpine peaks of Switzerland to the sunny beaches of Spain.
A few years ago, I lost a longtime friend to cancer—one of the most excruciating experiences of my life. Rachel and I had dreamed of entering the wedding industry together, she as a planner and I as a photographer.
When we lost her, and I got to keep going while she didn’t, I realized the importance of photos not only in preserving memories for the future but also in cherishing them in the present; in treasuring the people and places in our lives… and the purpose we find in them.
Rachel was my biggest supporter and the person who believed in my craft before I did, and I’ll spend the rest of my life wishing I could hold her one second longer.
this is why I do what I do.

My approach to photography stems from the many careers, roles, and industries I’ve worked in throughout my life. I draw inspiration from the best parts of each and blend them into one giant, beautiful melting pot of life lessons to pass along to you—and infuse into every one of your photos.

Where I grew a passion for encouraging others to be the best version of themselves. And where I learned that we will always be better together than alone.

My Personality Type: ENFP/Obliger
My Enneagram: 2w3
My Love Language: Acts of Service
A free spirit who you can count on no matter what.
You say people-pleasing, I say nurturing…
Intentional, thoughtful actions speak so much louder to me than words.
If you don’t already know by now that inclusivity is my #1 priority here, I’m not sure what you’ve been reading this whole time. I affirm and celebrate the uniqueness of every couple and individual, regardless of culture, gender, sexuality, race, body type, or any other identifier that has made you feel excluded in the past. You are not just welcomed but CELEBRATED here.
The beauty of human connection and collaboration is something I’ll never take for granted. My community plays an important role in my life, and I know yours does, too—I’ll always document your people with the same love you have for them.
As someone who has seen a lot of death and dealt with an abundance of loss and trauma, I know firsthand how fucking beautiful it is to be alive. And I will NEVER stop being grateful for that. I infuse fun, light, and hope into everything I do to remind you to hold onto every little moment that passes by.
I’m a big feeler: what you feel, I feel, and I use that to craft powerful, emotionally resonant images that will stay with you for a lifetime.
Listen, I know that “kindness” can sound a little cliché. But I don’t take it lightly. I value working with people who lead with warmth, compassion, and kindness above all else.

“Kate is incredible!! I’m not typically one that people successfully surprise (probably because I ask a lot of questions and my husband is terrible at lying) but Kate helped my husband pull off the most incredible proposal and got some beautiful photos of the moment that I will cherish forever. When it came time for the wedding, Kate was so helpful in helping us coordinate our timeline and encouraged us to enjoy the day. Some of my favorite photos are the people at our wedding enjoying time together and laughing! Kate is an incredible friend and an incredible photographer. ” —Sarah Chipka
“From the moment we met her, she made us feel completely at ease—like we were catching up with an old friend. She has a true gift for capturing connection and emotion, and our photos reflect that in the most heartfelt way. We’re so grateful for her talent, her warmth, and the friendship that came out of this experience. Book her!! You’ll be so glad you did!" —Soraya Evergreen
Katelyn is an incredibly creative and genuine human being. Her ability to create and capture people’s most authentic selves is such a gift and it shows through her photos. She came with plenty of ideas to our couple shoot, kept us moving, laughing and enjoying our time together. I can only imagine she’d be just as much as a fun and prepared professional whatever the setting. Can’t wait to have a reason to book her again!
